DEV LOG #1
12-12-2025 - Pre-Alpha Development Announcement
Hello, everybody!
I’m Evergreen the Dog, Director & Main Artist for S.P.A. Dog, and I’m really excited to announce that S.P.A. Dog is finally undergoing a slightly more serious level of development! We’re slowly working hard on some of the game’s core mechanics above everything else, ensuring the game is put in a playable state before we start really having fun with the characters and environments!
Menu Screen, Revisions may happen in the future.
Testing Stage.
Throughout this game's conceptualization, I have been brainstorming various plans for how I want my game to turn out, overall mood, genre, and the game engine we would end up using, and I have slowly picked some ideas out, and we went from this being an RPG to a Metroidvania, and went from GameMaker with pixel assets to Godot with assets made in Adobe Animate!
If you're intrested in what the original GameMaker ideas for the game would've looked like, here's some footage from one of the very first concepts for the game, and, yeesh, some things really don't age well.
Currently, we're figuring out how our central mechanic, the S.P.A. System, should work in-game, I will most likely be talking about that next Dev Log.
While I’m here, I would like to introduce to you guys our team! I’m sure we will hopefully be able to create a pleasant experience for you all!
